María Dueñas violin & Julien Quentin piano

Recently awarded the title “Rising Star” by Violin Channel, the 16-year-old Spanish violinist María Dueñas emerges as a distinguished young soloist.

A student of well-known pedagogue Boris Kuschnir at the Music and Arts University in Graz and the Music and Art University in Vienna, Dueñas has been awarded numerous prizes and accolades both in National and International Competitions, such as the First Prize in the Vladimir Spivakov Competition (Ufa, 2018), the 1st Prize in the Senior Division in the Yankelevitch International Competition (Russia, 2018), 1st Prize in the Zhuhai Mozart International Competition (China, 2017), the Grand Prix in the 14th International George Philip Telemann Competition (Poland, 2017) together with the special award to the best sonata performance and the Prinz von Hessen Award 2017 (Kronberg) to the youngest violinist with the greatest development potential, among others.
